There is no denying that the Knockout line of roses are one of, if not the most popular of shrub roses. What’s not to like? They are not fussy about how they are pruned or deadheaded. They shrug off disease and can flower from May until November (in our Zone 6 climate). White Knockout is a favorite and blooms and blooms. In spring we use the hedge trimmer to cut it back to about knee height and prune out any straggly or dead stems. We do give it a tidying hand prune after each flush and they just keep coming until well into fall. Some say Knockouts don’t have fragrance, or much of one. That has not been our experience. They are very lightly and delightfully fragrant.
